Newsletter #1

The group was formed in March 2005 in response to news of the Governments shore management proposals, and the possible threats that the plan might present to the villages of Scratby and California.

When the original group formed from neighbours along the Scratby seafront its stated aims were as follows.

  1. To work on behalf of the villages of Scratby and California to establish all the facts relating to coastal erosion and our coastline in general and to investigate its causes and effects.
  2. To research all options, comment on information received and establish the validity of such information.
  3. To present our ultimate argument and propose the necessary course of action to minimise or obviate the effects and threat of coastal erosion to our villages.
